About Zurich Film Festival
The first edition of Zurich Film Festival took place in 2005 and the festival quickly established itself as a renowned forum for film excellence on the European film festival landscape. Before the coronavirus pandemic, Zurich Film Festival would typically attract more than 117.000 festival attendees and 1.500 media professionals from around the globe. And even throughout the tough times for the film industry brought on by coronavirus, the festival is as strong as ever, gearing up towards the 17th edition of the festival in 2021.
An important component of the festival is the competition. The competition consists of three main sections: International Feature Film, International Documentary Film and "Focus: Switzerland, Germany and Austria".
