Taking place every autumn, Zurich Film Festival promotes cultural interplay in many forms between emerging directors, successful film professionals, the film industry and the general public. About Zurich Film Festival
The first edition of Zurich Film Festival took place in 2005 and the festival quickly established itself as a renowned forum for film excellence in the European film festival landscape. Zurich Film Festival typically attracts more than 117.000 festival attendees and 1.500 media professionals from around the globe.
An important component of the festival is the competition. The competition consists of three main sections: International Feature Film, International Documentary Film and the Emerging Swiss Talent Award. All competition films are premieres, either in Switzerland, in Europe or even worldwide!

The Festival Centre on Sechseläutenplatz is the hub of the festival and it's totally free to visit. As well as a bar, information stands and a merchandise table, the big draw is that the Green Carpet runs right alongside the Festival Centre, so it's an ideal place to come and star-spot and autograph hunt.
