Rendez-vous Bundesplatz - Point Nemo
This October, submerge yourself into the mysterious location of "Point Nemo" through the magic of Rendez-vous Bundesplatz, a lighting spectacle with amazing visuals and great music.
Point Nemo is around 2.700 kilometres from the nearest land, making it the most remote point on the planet. Also called the “Pacific Pole of Inaccessibility”, its coordinates were only determined around 30 years ago. In 2022, Point Nemo will be the focus of the autumn show at the Bundesplatz in Bern. The show consists of imaginative scenes that will take visitors through the depths of the dark, deep sea on the Nautilus - Jules Verne’s submarine.
Discover stunning algae forests, sparkling plankton, gorgeous seahorses, vibrant jellyfish, and much more, accompanied by insightful and witty commentary from the narrator (in German). The audience will also get to learn Morse Code as the show progresses.
The Rendez-vous Bundesplatz show of Point Nemo combines dazzling visuals, renowned musical scores, and fascinating scientific research in an immersive experience about the very important, but not well-known Point Nemo.
The event makes an effort to push for further exploration of the deep sea, as it emphasises the importance of the water on the planet, and how little we know of it. The shows will be taking place from October 22 - November 26, and there will be three screenings every day with the exception of Mondays. The three screenings will take place at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. The screenings are free, and they have fantastic options for the auditory and visually impaired.
