For almost a quarter of a century, Groove Now Blues Weeks has been bringing the very best international blues artists to Basel and it's back again this May and June.

Groove Now Blues Weeks Basel

With eleven nights of high-quality blues music, Groove Now Blues Weeks Basel is one of the most important blues festivals in Europe. Featuring some of the world's best contemporary and traditional international artists, including Grammy-nominated Duke Robillard, multi Blues Music Award winner Albert Castiglia and LA Music Critics Awards winner Gina Sicilia, there is something for every blues lover at this festival. For most of the artists, it's their only date in Switzerland this year, so make sure you don't miss out!

Tribute nights from contemporary stars

May 31 is a one-off tribute to the late legend that is Junior Parker, with Sugar Ray Norcia, Duke Robillard and Andrew Duncanson teaming up to play some of Junior's songs. On June 8, you can also catch Alabama Mike and Rick Estrin & The Nightcats paying their dues to the late Chicago-blues heavyweight Willie Dixon. These shows are exclusive to the Groove Now Blues Weeks Basel.

Intimate concerts

All the concerts are staged in perennial favourite Atlantis, a venue with capacity for only a couple of hundred people. This intimate space means you are sure to feel up close and personal with the stars of the blues scene, and hear the music as it's really meant to be. This club-cum-restaurant has been feeding and entertaining the residents of Basel since 1947, and it really knows how to deliver the goods.
