Senior Data Engineer
About this role
Salary: CHF 95’000 - 125’000 per year
Requirements:- Working knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, and ELT concepts, with experience in SQL programming.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or equivalent.
- Experience with modern data tools, specifically built on GCP and using BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Looker, and Hex.
- Familiarity with software engineering concepts, including git, testing, debugging, research, and technical problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into data solutions.
- Experience mentoring other data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists, increasing data literacy in less technical teams.
- A curious mind and a passion for continuous learning.
- Bonus:
- Experience working with product master and lifecycle data technologies.
- Experience working with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform).
- Experience in data observability and distributed data ownership.
- Drive the design of data models and build data pipelines.
- Automate builds and deployments using CI/CD.
- Decipher APIs while leveraging SQL to provide clean, tested, documented, and well-defined data.
- Provide guidance to other data engineers and analysts regarding architectural and design decisions.
- Support tech teams responsible for product master data modeling efforts and evangelize best practices and governance policies.
- Act as a point of contact for one or more business teams to create relevant data products that enhance the quality and adoption of product master data.
