 for our Research & Development department within the Business Unit "Liquid Food Packaging" This open position of R&D Lab technician is based in our Center of Excellence located in Switzerland, specialized in the development and production of UV inks and varnishes. The mission will be : To conduct laboratory studies in accordance with the objectives set in terms of quality, costs, time. To develop & test new processes or formulas; Occasionnally participates to industrial testing and validation. Tasks and responsibilities 

  • Carry out laboratory work/study (product characterisation, product customisation to customer needs, colour matching, complain & claim management)
  • Propose & implement an action/trial plan, to answer to a technical problematic
  • Design, develop and test new formula or solutions according to specifications or objectives
  • Develop characterisation or evaluation tests 
  • Prepare and anticipate, in some cases, to internal or external validation trials
  • Analyse results, documents results, ensure traceability (results, recipes, samples) and issue study reports; Ensure tasks tracking tool is updated with new tasks and record tasks in Siegwerk’s workflow tool.
  • Characterise new raw materials, prepare / samples raw material or intermediate to supply r&d laboratory
  • Participate to industrialisation trials
  • Ensure making of pilot quantity of inks (lab scale)
  • Define critical parameters of new recipes (QC, process, correction)
  • Participate to the technical watch and use available results/k how to drive new development
  • Can be in contact with suppliers in the frame of r&d projects  
  • Participate to the laboratory activities (maintenance of working conditions, 5S, cleaning, metrology, respects of local HSE rules)
  • Ensure a technical support to application team and or to SCM (QC, production, industrialization)

 Qualifications

  • Diploma from technical school or other relevant scientific subject
  • Use of laboratory equipment
  • International experience appreciated
  • Fluent in English and German
